- How do I get my password and username if I forgot what it was?
If you've forgotten your username or password, please click on the “Forgot Username or Password?” text under the homepage Login. You will be asked to put in your username or your email. If you opt to enter your email, please put the email that you used to sign up to the site. Your username will be sent to you via email, as well as a link to update your password. Sometimes this e-mail gets caught in spam filters, so please be sure to check your Junk mail folder if you do not receive it. Use Yahoo! Mail? It's in your Bulk Folder. - I forgot my username or password and I enter my e-mail to retrieve it and it says my e-mail is invalid.
Try entering your username. When you click on Forgot Your Password and it prompts you to type in your email address, you must use the address for which you signed up for the site or you will receive an “invalid” message. This could also happen if you have misspelled your email address. Make sure all information is correct. - How do I upload a new video to my profile?
To upload new multimedia to your profile, sign in with your username and password. Then click on "Edit Videos" in your Account Toolbox at the upper right of the page. Go to the box that reads Add Video. Click Choose File. This allow you to choose the video file from anywhere in your computer. Select the file and click Upload Video. When it appears in the Video Playlist box, please click Save. To save all changes click Save Changes. If you are uploading pictures, click on Manage Photos. - How do I upload a new photo to my profile?
To upload new multimedia to your profile, sign in with username and password. Then click on "Edit Photos" in your Account Toolbox at the upper right of the page. Go to the box that reads Add Image. Click Choose File. This allow you to choose the picture file from anywhere in your computer. Select the file and click Upload Photo. When it appears in the Your Images box, please click Save. To save all changes click Save Changes - What if I want a different image to appear as my primary photo?
To reorder your images, click on "Edit Photos" in your Account Toolbox after signing in. Go to the box that says "Your Images." Click and hold the green tab to reorder your images. The image that appears in the first position will be your primary photo. Click Save after making any changes. - Can I see which people have looked at my profile?
No. There is no way to see who has viewed your profile. However, if someone clicks "Date Me" or sends you a message, you will know that they have viewed your profile in order to access those options. - How can I block messages from someone I'm not interested in?
When you are in your Message Center inbox, select the chcekbox to the left of the user you wish to ignore, and then click the red "Ignore User" link at the top. - How can I unblock someone I ignored?
When you are in your Message Center inbox, click on "Preferences" and manage your ignored users. - How do I contact another profile?
In order to contact another user, you can click the Date Me button on their profile. Or, you can send them a message from the Messaging Center by going to your Inbox and then clicking "Compose Message." You can type a person's username or profile ID into the "To" field. You will receive a confirmation message about the field if the username or ID is valid. - How do I search to narrow down the profiles?
You can search our community of valley singles in numerous ways. Go to the homepage and click the appropriate gender and age tabs to narrow down your search (eg. MALE, 18-24). Check as many boxes as you like. Click on the individual thumbnails to view videos and photos. Click on View Profile to learn even more about them.
You also have the option to narrow your search by clicking on Advanced Search. Type in the criteria that are important to you and find other singles that share your interests. - Where do I go to correct something on my profile?
To change your profile, log in with your username and password. Then click on "Edit Profile" in your Account Toolbox. You will be offered a list of options -- just click on the one that you would like to edit. Always remember to save your changes by clicking the big red button in the bottom right-hand corner. - How can I remove a picture that I don't want posted anymore?
To remove a photo or video, log in with your username and password. Then click on "Edit Photos" in your Account Toolbox. Simply click the blue "Remove?" link under any image that you wish to delete. - I have a dialup connection; will the site still work for me?
The site may work for you, but you will not experience optimal performance, and it may not work at all. This is a multimedia site and requires Flash to use, and Flash is a higher-bandwidth technology that does not perform well on dialup. - I'm trying to upload video how long does it usually take, is there an uploading bar that shows time?
The time will vary depending upon the the size of the video, the length of the video, and the speed of your internet connection. You will get an upload bar that displays the percentage of your upload that is complete. After your video is uploaded, you may have to wait an additional amount of time (perhaps up to 5 minutes) to have the video encoded for web. Please be patient. - Is there a place where I can track and see the emails I send out?
Yes. If you click on the "Sent" link in the Message Center, you can see all the messages that you have sent to other daters. - What browser works best with the site?
Your Dating Spot is optimized for Internet Explorer 6.0 and above and Firefox 2.0 and above for PCs, and Firefox 2.0 and Safari on a Mac. - I'm using AOL, and the site isn't working. What's wrong?
Your Dating Spot is not optimized for use with the AOL browser. Please try the site again using Internet Explorer or Firefox. You can download the latest version of Firefox at www.getfirefox.com. - I uploaded pictures but they don't show on my profile — what is wrong?
First, log in to your account and click on "Edit Photos" in the Account Toolbox. Confirm that your pictures are appearing in the "Your Images" box. If they are not, you will need to upload them again, and be sure to click "Save." If your images are in the box, make sure that there is an image in the number 1 position. If there is not (for example, if you have two images labeled "2"), click "Save" and it should update the numbers so that you have an image marked as the primary. - What is the size limit to upload video?
Videos cannot be more than 50MB in size or more than 10 minutes in length. - What formats of video do you accept?
We accept MOV, MPEG, WMV and AVI formats. - What is the size limit to upload images?
Images cannot be more than 2MB in size. - What image formats do you accept?
We accept JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, GIF and PICT. - Do I need to download anything to view the site?
Only if you do not already have Flash player installed. If you don't, you can download the latest version of Flash player at www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/. - How do I turn on/off e-mail alerts?
After logging, in, click on "Inbox" in the Account Toolbox and then click on "Preferences." To turn on e-mail alerts, check the "Alert me via e-mail of new messages." To turn off e-mail alerts, uncheck this box. The alerts will be sent to the e-mail account you used when creating your profile. - How do I change the e-mail account/phone number/address associated with my profile?
After logging, in, click on "Edit Profile" in the Account Toolbox. Then click on "Edit Contact Info" and update your information. - What does the “View Profile” link in the Account Toolbox do?
It displays your profile as it appears to other users. - You keep referring to the “Account Toolbox.” What is that?
The Account Toolbox is the box that replaces the Login box after you have successfully logged in to the site. This box gives you quick links to your Message Center Inbox, Editing your Profile, Photos or Videos, Viewing your Profile as others see it. - I don't want my profile on the site anymore. How do I take it off?
Log in to your account and click on "Edit Profile" in the Account Toolbox. Then click on "Account Settings." To remove your profile, click "Remove my profile from Your Dating Spot." - I removed my profile from the site, but now I want it back. Can I recover it?
Yes. Log in to your account. You will see two options – "Reactive Account" and "Recreate Account." If you choose to reactivate your account, the last version of your profile will be reinstated. If you choose to recreate your account, all previous information will be removed and you will need to go through the Create a Profile steps again. - I got an “Error: Unavailable Profile” message when I clicked on a profile. What does that mean?
This means that you have reached a profile that has been temporarily or permanently removed from the site. The user could have chosen to remove their profile from the site, or could have been removed by site administrators. - I still have a question. What do I do?
